Forestry mulching is a land clearing method that uses a specialized machine to cut, shred and grind trees and other types of woody materials. Common uses for forestry mulching include: clearing overgrown vegetation, creating trails, removing invasive species, right of way maintenance, reducing fuel for fire hazards, as well as numerous other reasons.
There is minimal soil disruption with forestry mulching compared to other land clearing methods. The left-over mulch also creates a layer protecting the soil from erosion, helps the soil retain moisture as well as gives nutrients back to the soil as it decomposes.
